Product Design and Development with Element HT: Mosaic and Interfacial

Headquartered in Prescott, Wisconsin, Interfacial (IFC) is a development services company that scales and manufactures custom compounds for the plastics industry. IFC brings customer ideas to manufacturing, diligently prototyping and testing to ensure the best product possible is brought to market.

The Challenge

Empower3D, a subdivision of IFC, focuses on additive manufacturing as a solution for product development. In order to be able to expand the scope of customer offerings, IFC is continuously looking for ways to advance the technology within their labs. At the time they became familiar with Mosaic, IFC was searching for a printer that offered an open approach to third party materials to allow them greater flexibility for product testing. Element HT offered a solution that allowed for experimentation and innovation, while also delivering high quality parts.

The Solution

Element HT offered a number of features that IFC was looking for in a 3D print system. The open approach to third party materials, ability to print with high temperature materials, and overall print quality prove to be an excellent match for their operations. Additionally, Canvas’ intuitive user interface and the ability to queue and manage prints remotely, has allowed IFC increased flexibility when it comes to customer jobs, and has unlocked greater capacity for innovation.

"The features that the Mosaic Element has are exactly what we're looking for. It has a heated chamber... it has great accuracy, nice prints, [and] really simple-to-use web interface."

The Future

Element and Element HT offer a robust but affordable solution for organizations who are experimenting with additive manufacturing or who produce a smaller volume of 3D printed parts. Both Element and Element HT are open to third party materials; Element HT also boasts the capacity to print with high temperature materials.

“The Mosaic Element stands out. Especially if you’re ready to go from beginner to the next step.”

In order to allow our customers the greatest flexibility possible, Mosaic’s product ecosystem has been designed to be customizable and modular in nature. Should the demand for 3D printed parts increase, Element users can trade in their units for credit that can be put towards the purchase of an Array. The transition to Array is further simplified by the fact that no additional training or software is required. With Element and Array, you can scale production at a pace that's suitable for your business.
